Powertrain Joint Activities
     Our union's focus has always centered on an equitable division of profits and ensuring that workers receive dignity and respect at work.  Part of achieving those goals revolves around gaining a voice in the daily running of the business.  
     In 1972 the UAW negotiated the right to be part of the business through a joint activities process.  On page 265 of the National Agreement, this joint process is outlined in its current iteration.

  Kelly Lands is the Joint Activities Representative for the Powertrain Toledo plant.  The role and function of a Joint Activities Representative is to assist the Shop Committee and the Local Joint Activities Committee (LJAC). Some of the primary duties focus on these following activities:

  • Act as an interface with the National Center
  • Assist in the allocation of resources for Joint Activities
  • Moderate / facilitate appropriate meetings
  • Compile and submit required reports for the National Committees
  • Monitor the status of joint funds
