GM Powertrain Toledo ranked #1 by Harbour and Associates

Harbour and Associates announced for the fourth year in a row that the Toledo Plant has been ranked #1, as the most productive transmission plant in North America.
Other awards include:

  • Perfect corporate safety audit - we are one of the safest plants in GM
  • Rear-wheel drive truck transmissions beat Toyota in quality in the J.D. Power survey for the first time ever.
  • Our assembly quick-response team received Chairman's honors
  • Passed the Quality QS 9000 and Environmental ISO 14001 audits

2003 J.D. Power IQS-2 Study
For the second year in a row... GM is the top quality domestic producer of cars and trucks.
Long term quality will drive more industry actions than anything in the coming years. J.D. Power and Associates admitted that customers value long-term quality more than initial quality which, of course, they measure in their well-publicized IQS-2 study

The Consumer Reports New Car Preview 2004

...is one of the most influential publications in our industry. For many customers, it becomes the “go to” source when deciding on a new car or truck. In fact, these customers often won’t consider a vehicle that isn’t a “recommended” product.

     The publication only gives a “recommended” rating to vehicles which perform well on its tests and show average or better reliability on the consumer questionnaire. “Recommended” GM vehicles are listed here.

     GM continues to improve. Last year, we had 13 vehicles on the list. In previous years, the number of vehicles on the list was below 10. A decade ago, there were about 4 vehicles on the list.
